About Rise Fund

Rise Fund is a canadian funding and capacity-building organization established in to bridge the gap between great ideas and the resources needed to make them real. We exist to ensure that visionary individuals, grassroots innovators, emerging businesses, and community-based organizations have both the financial backing and strategic support to address critical issues in their communities.

Our philosophy:
Empower the individual, strengthen the community, and contribute to a better world.

We do this through a model that is inclusive, accessible, and impact-driven. Our grant-making process is open year-round, with a focus on enabling people and organizations that may otherwise be overlooked by traditional funding streams. We understand that the right support at the right time can be transformative not just for the grantee, but for entire communities.

More Than a Grant, It’s a Launchpad

People don’t lack potential. They lack opportunity.

Great change starts small. We know that across the globe, there are changemakers with brilliant solutions, but they are often held back by a single barrier: the first “yes.” The initial funding and vote of confidence that says, “Your idea matters.”

Rise Fund was created to be that first spark. We provide the essential capital and the powerful affirmation that helps you transform your grassroots vision into a tangible reality. We don’t just fund projects; we invest in the potential of people.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to identify, fund, and accompany changemakers who are committed to delivering solutions that directly respond to the urgent social, economic, and environmental challenges of our time.

We prioritize projects that are:

  • Community-Centered – Designed with and for the communities they serve.
  • Innovative – Offering new approaches to persistent challenges.
  • Sustainable – Capable of lasting and scaling beyond initial funding.
  • Inclusive – Intentionally ensuring participation and benefit for marginalized or underserved groups.

Our Vision

We envision a future where anyone with the courage to act for the greater good can access the tools, funding, and networks they need to succeed. A world where innovation and compassion work hand-in-hand to create societies that are just, equitable, and resilient.

Our Grant Categories

Rise Fund offers four core categories of support, each tailored to meet changemakers wherever they are in their journey:

1. Personal Grants
For individuals facing circumstances that require immediate financial assistance, or those starting small but potentially transformative community or personal initiatives. These grants acknowledge that the power to change the world begins with empowering a person’s life and capacity.

2. Seed Grants
For brand new projects led by passionate individuals or informal groups who have a clear vision but limited resources. This is catalytic funding — designed to test, prove, and launch ideas that could have a lasting impact.

3. Startup Grants
For early-stage social enterprises that are applying innovative solutions to social or environmental problems. These grants help founders refine their business model, scale their impact, and attract further investment.

4. NGO/CBO Grants
For registered non-governmental or community-based organizations that have a track record of engagement and results but require additional resources to expand, innovate, or deepen their impact.

How We Work

Our methodology blends careful selection, transparent decision-making, and ongoing partnership:

Step 1 – Open Access:
We accept applications year-round to ensure opportunities are available when they are needed most, without the pressure of fixed deadlines.

Step 2 – Strategic Selection:
Applications are reviewed for clarity of vision, feasibility, community benefit, and potential for measurable impact.

Step 3 – Funding and Support:
Selected initiatives receive financial support alongside connections to resources, guidance, and networks that will aid long-term success.

Step 4 – Partnership in Progress:
We remain engaged, not as overseers, but as partners — sharing knowledge, opening networks, and encouraging continuous improvement.

Step 5 – Accountability and Learning:
We track results, encourage transparency, and share insights to inspire other changemakers and funders.
